Daily Fix: Fennecs Continue Preparations in France

-The Algerian National Team continued their training camp in the Toulon region of southern France as they prepare for the upcoming African Cup of Nations in Angola. Today, the team went through two practices, a light physical practise in the morning, before getting down to the tactics in the even practise. However, the team was without defender Antar Yahia who traveled to Switzerland to see a specialist about his injury, while Rafik Saifi and Mourad Meghni practises on their own as they continue to nurse their injuries. The team will stay in France for the next three days before flying down to Luanda, Angola on Thursday. Algeria faces Malawi on January 11th in their opening game of the competition.

-In the Scottish Premier League, Ismael Bouzid helped Hearts come away with a 1-1 draw against rivals Hibernian FC in the Edinburgh derby at Easter Road. Bouzid started in the heart of defense and played the whole game, putting in a solid performance despite a couple of mistakes. The win keeps Hearts in the 5th place in the SPL. In the other derby of the day, Rangers also managed a 1-1 draw against Celtic at Celtic Park in the Old Firm derby. Rangers were without two key players for the game, Algerian defender Madjid Bougherra and striker Kenny Miller. Given the circumstances, the result is considered a positive one for 'Gers and maintains their lead at the top of the table at 7 points.

-In the Spanish Segunda Division (D2), Gimnàstic Tarragona were 1-0 winners on the road against relegation threatened Cadiz. Algerian left-back Walid Cherfa played the whole game for the visitors, his 8th game of the season. With the win, Gimnàstic moves up to 6th place in the standings.
